Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using DMV Private Prep. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, subscribing to a plan, or otherwise using DMV Private Prep (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Corvessa Partners LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), the company that operates DMV Private Prep.

2. About the Service

DMV Private Prep is a subscription platform that provides personalized private high school admissions support for families in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and surrounding regions. The Service includes personalized school list generation with Safety/Match/Reach categorization, SSAT and HSPT test preparation, essay feedback, interview coaching, application tracking, counselor messaging, and a Chrome extension for application form autofill.

The Service is operated by Corvessa Partners LLC, a company committed to making expert-level admissions guidance accessible to every family.

3. Account Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account on DMV Private Prep. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. The platform is designed primarily for parents and guardians researching private high school admissions on behalf of their children.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Subscription, Billing, and Cancellation

DMV Private Prep offers two ways to try the platform before committing to a paid subscription:

  • Quiz Trial (2 days): Take the 12-question discovery quiz and receive 2 days of full platform access. No credit card is required. After 2 days, you must subscribe to continue using the full platform.
  • Direct Trial (7 days): Start a 7-day free trial with full platform access. A credit card is required at sign-up. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will begin automatically.

These trial paths are mutually exclusive. You may use one trial per account.

After any trial period, the full platform subscription is $39 per month. Subscriptions automatically renew each billing cycle until canceled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings or by contacting peter@dmvprivateprep.com. When you cancel, you retain access through the end of your current billing period.

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information on our servers.

5. Refund Policy

We offer refunds within 7 days of your initial subscription payment if you have not used the platform extensively. To request a refund, contact peter@dmvprivateprep.com. Refund requests made after 7 days or for accounts with significant usage will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

6. Acceptable Use

When using DMV Private Prep, you agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the platform
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the platform or its infrastructure
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow multiple people to use a single account
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Misrepresent your identity or submit false information

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.

7. Intellectual Property

The platform, its design, branding, software, content, and all related materials are the property of Corvessa Partners LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission.

You retain full ownership of the content you submit to the platform, including transcripts, essays, and profile data. By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process and store that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

8. User Content

You represent and warrant that any content you submit to the platform, including transcripts, report cards, essays, and profile information, is your own or is used with the permission of the content owner. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you provide.

9. AI-Generated Content

DMV Private Prep uses artificial intelligence, including Anthropic's Claude, to generate school recommendations, Safety/Match/Reach categorization, essay feedback, interview coaching suggestions, and other analysis. This AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes and should be reviewed and verified by the user before being relied upon.

AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. We recommend that families use our analysis as one input in their decision-making process, alongside their own research, school visits, and conversations with admissions professionals.

10. No Guarantee of Admissions Outcomes

DMV Private Prep provides personalized school categorization (Safety, Match, and Reach), recommendations, test preparation, and admissions guidance. These tools are designed to support your family's decision-making process.

We do not guarantee that any student will be admitted to any specific school. Admissions decisions are made solely by each school's admissions office and involve many factors beyond academic profile, including interviews, recommendations, available seats, and institutional priorities. Our categorizations and recommendations are informed estimates, not predictions of admissions outcomes.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with the following third-party providers, each of which has its own terms and policies:

  • Stripe for payment processing
  • Supabase for data infrastructure and authentication
  • Anthropic for AI-powered analysis and recommendations
  • Vercel for application hosting

We are not responsible for the practices or policies of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their respective terms.

12. Chrome Extension

The DMV Private Prep Autofill Chrome extension is provided as a convenience to help families complete admissions application forms more efficiently. The extension only accesses form fields on pages where you explicitly trigger it and does not collect browsing data, track your activity, or access any page content without your action.

You use the extension at your own discretion and are responsible for reviewing all autofilled data before submitting any application.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

School data, including acceptance rates, enrollment figures, and academic profiles, is collected from publicly available sources and may not always reflect the most current information. We make reasonable efforts to keep this data up to date but cannot guarantee its accuracy at all times.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Corvessa Partners LLC's total liability arising out of or related to your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred dollars ($100).

In no event will Corvessa Partners LLC be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of opportunity, regardless of the cause of action or the theory of liability.

15. Modifications to the Service

We may modify, update, or discontinue features of the Service at any time. If we make changes that materially affect your use of the platform or change pricing, we will provide reasonable notice through the platform or by email.

16. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Corvessa Partners LLC reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to other users, the platform, or our business.

Upon termination, your right to access the Service will end. Any data stored on your profile can be exported or deleted before account closure by using the tools available on your dashboard.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

18. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Fairfax County, Virginia. By using the Service, you consent to the personal jurisdiction of these courts.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms have been posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
